Robots lead you to your seat. Their menu is extensive with ramen, fried rice, yakiramen, sushi rolls, and donburis. Your food will be brought to you on a fast conveyor beat. The sushi conveyor belt had rotating dolls on it that you can purchase - It's a little weird. The servers were good at filling out waters and asking if we needed anything. Their Chirashi Don was good. But the experience is pretty expensive. It's about $25 per person. It's worth a try but unfortunately not a 5/5 star rating for me.
We came here on Monday at 7.30 pm with a reservation for 2 . Arrived at sharp 7.30 pm . No problem, waiter took us to table for 2. First time ya know . But waiter asked us. First time? Yes , we said. So he did explain it every thing... it was so helpful. Appreciate it . We opened tablet menu to see what offer. We ordered sashimi plate, uni , baked Oster, yellowtail sashimi. Baked salmon and 3 kirin beer. Food came by a robot and chain sleigh . It was new and so interesting for us . It came with a verdict. Food was a solid 4 stars. Service a 4 stars. In overall was our new experience and everything, I bumped it up to a 5 stars due to support a local restaurant and a small restaurant. Even though it was expensive . Here came a bill 167 dollars. Is it worth it? You make a call . Thanks. ..
Recently visited Santa Rosa and decided to stop at a local sushi restaurant. This place did not disappoint, they had the futuristic vibes by ordering off the tablet. Your food was then delivered in a race car on conveyer belt (pretty cool). We came close to closing time so I appreciated the host still taking us in. We order the edamame & salmon appetizers both were refreshing and delicious. The salmon melted like butter at each bite. Finished off the night with 2 sushi rolls... but for the life of me cannot remember the names.
The robots are beginning to take over! Kiraku Sushi in Santa Rosa has it all - a robot hostess to escort you to the table (and provide your bill), a tablet to order food and drinks, and a moving trolley to bring your food. For entertainment, there's a carousel of Japanese dolls, Marvel Characters, and. other cute sculptures to keep the kiddos (and adults) amused. Turns out that the food was amazing too, and yes you still need human cooks and sushi chefs at this point. We ordered: 1. Plum Wine - loved this since I drink beer less these days and wasn't in the mood for whiskey or sake. Very fruity and refreshing. 2. Chicken Bento Box - Wow huge portion. 8 Cali Rolls (!), rice, super-soft and juicy chicken, and even juicier steamed pork dumplings. 3. Shoyu Ramen - Big bowl and the wife seemed to like it 4. Deluxe Sushi Combo - Yikes this one took a while but boy it was worth the wait. A human waiter brought out a wooden dish comprised of little steps like a spiral staircase. Each step had a piece of nigiri and the top step had a bottle of dried ice to provide some smoke effect. Heavenly! Each piece had super fresh toppings and well-seasoned, soft rice. The order of the sushi seemed random - it would have been cool to start with the most humble version (tamago?) at the bottom and maybe put the most expensive one on top. They did throw in 8 Cali rolls with the combo. Definitely recommend Kiraku as a must-try Japanese place in Santa Rose. Its located in a dated strip mall but the vibe, decor, and food quality makes it a 5-star in my view.
It would be cool if the boats were being utilized for food. The top part (a conveyor belt) was functional and some of our food came to the table on it. Overall the food was okay in an area without many Japanese cuisine offerings. If I was around I'd come back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come. Nice staff providing friendly though slow service (we came during a busy time). Restaurant was clean.
I love this place! Sushi is always a kind of personal choice, and is see people post glowing reviews of places I won't eat. Then, there is Kiraku. I go here a lot. We call it Robot Sushi, because they have robots, and you order with an iPad that sits on the table. The food comes out on a race car to your table - fresh from the kitchen! It was a revelation getting a soft shell crab roll that was still piping hit from the frier! What you get on exchange for service are the hottest, freshest sushi you will get in the area. We love the fish, but they have potstickers, ramen, soups, killer rolls, and other favorites like hamachi kama (yellowtail collar). The service is a little lacking and slow, but the kitchen is on point and you can pace your meal how you want. I really appreciate the quality of the food here. Dont go near closing though. They have regularly run us out with the cleaning fluids as early as an hour before closing - nothing goes worse with sushi than lysol... Other than not going there near closing - Kiraku consistently delivers deficits food - it is one of my local favorites!
Came here solely because I saw on TikTok that the sushi comes on a boat/train lol. Sometimes you just want a little something to enhance your experience. It was so cool! I made a reservation which I'm glad I did because the line was long and we were seated immediately. I wish I could remember the exact names for the rolls we ordered because everything was tasty! I totally recommend for a date night. There may be another location in Berkeley but I don't think the food comes out like this lol.
The food was good quality! We stuck with the rolls and didn't get any appetizers or drinks for our first time. We got the salmon delight and volcano rolls and they were around $15-$17 each. Both were "chef's rolls", they have cheaper basic rolls that are under $10. The menu has A LOT of options, it took us a while to choose haha. The ambiance was great. It was the combination of fun, clean, and authentic. Everyone was nice and our food was ready fairly quick. Back in the day the conveyer belt would have plates of sushi going around and now there's cute decorations. I'm hoping one day they'll bring that back! Our food was brought by a train above the conveyer belt. Such a fun & unique place, we'll definitely be back!
